Besides that, Sony introduced another smartphone Xperia 1 II Pro. The specs are almost the same as Xperia 1 II, but the accent is aimed at 5G mmWave technology. It additionally has USB Type-C and micro HDMI connections. The body is made from a special sturdy plastic.
Obviously a new Sony’s smartphone is designed with photographers and videographers in mind. You can easily tell it briefly lookign at specifications. Though it doesn’t have a 108MP camera like in Samsung S20 Ultra, it only has a 12MP sensor which isn’t bad at all.
Probably the most exciting camera features are
- Tripple lens camera with various focal lengths (16mm, 24mm, 70mm)
- World’s first 20fps AF/AE tracking
- Burst shooting 20fps
- Real-time eye AF for humans and animals
By the way, the camera interface should look similar to Alpha mirrorless cameras, so professional photographers and enthusiasts won’t need to adapt to it.
Sony claimed their new sensor is 50% bigger than on a previous model. It really should make sense, despite from marketing point it’s not a super advantage. Big numbers like Samsug’s 108MP are shouting, but the real-life tests will only tell the truth.
Video mode should allow shooting in 4k HDR mode which is quite impressive. Besides that, Sony’s smartphone will have flexible Look presets for color management. Audio separation technology reduces wind noise. We will see how it works in the field this summer, according to Sony’s announcement.
Will Sony beat competitors with its new weapon? We will see this summer. By the way, check out more information on the official Sony website
